BSbios to build Brazil’s first big wheat-based ethanol plant in Rio Grande do Sul

In Brazil, Reuters reports BSbios plans to build the country’s first major wheat-based ethanol plant in Rio Grande do Sul with commissioning expected in the second half of 2024. Wheat production is growing in the country in an effort to reduce reliance on imports from Europe and North America and the company’s CEO says that the facility will help to boost security as it drives more demand for local production. During the first phase, it will produce 29.3 million gallons per year.
