Bayer launches sustainable agriculture hub to link farmers with processors

In Missouri, Reuters reports that Bayer has launched its ForGround electronic platform to help farmers boost the sustainability of their production while in turning linking them with food and fuel producers wanting to ensure a more sustainable supply chain. The sustainable agriculture hub will track data such as weather, soil, seed and farming practices and then provide recommendations for improvement while also providing third-party verification. The platform wants to link with food and biofuel processors to create incentive programs that would pay farmers a premium for improving their production.
