Herm becomes first of the Channel Islands to go 100% biofuel

August 15, 2022 |

In the UK, ITV news reports that Herm has become the first of the Channel Islands to go completely 100% biofuel as it aims to reduce the cost of expensive fossil fuels and its environmental impact. The island has no cars, but still uses about 400,000 liters of fuel annually for 4-wheelers and energy production. The switch to biofuel follows the successful transition of the island’s ferry to biofuel last year. The move is supported by local environmental campaigners.
