In India, the Hindustan Times reports Uttar Pradesh is expected to allow retail sale of biodiesel under its new bioenergy policy currently under development, the prohibition of which has up until now hampered the development of regional biodiesel production. Since 2019, biodiesel producers have only been allowed to sell their fuel to oil companies but will soon likely be able to sell directly through retail channels. The draft policy was submitted to UP’s state minister last Sunday.
