The Digest’s 2022 Multi-Slide Guide to Catalytic Conversion of CO2 into High-Value Chemicals

What can you actually make from CO2 that’s valuable, and more permanent? The goal of this project is to develop technology to convert CO2 to valuable products to partially offset carbon capture costs from the utility and industrial sectors. Also, to contribute to the production of a formic acid at a lower cost than is currently available, potentially disrupting C1 feedstock markets. The University of Kentucky’s Jesse Thompson leads a team of researchers in partnership with Trumeric Corporation that, among other work ,is screening and producing engineered CO2 reducing catalysts capable of producing C1/C2 products, including formic acid (formate).
