Kuehne+Nagel and Novo Nordisk ink SAF partnership
In Switzerland, logistics Kuehne+Nagel said it has signed a partnership with healthcare firm Novo Nordisk to drive the development of sustainable aviation fuel.
Novo Nordisk chose the Kuehne+Nagel sustainable fuel solution to reduce the environmental footprint of their air freight shipments in 2022. The logistics firm said that the use of 12 million liters of Kuehne+Nagel SAF for all Novo Nordisk air freight will avoid direct emission of around 30,000 tons of CO2.
Dorethe Nielsen, Vice President of Corporate Environmental Strategy at Novo Nordisk said: “This is yet another step in Novo Nordisk’s continuous support of the development of sustainable aviation fuel. Our air freight accounts for most of our product distribution emissions as we provide life-saving medicines to patients around the world. We want to drive change in this area to help pave the way for other companies to also transition and cut emissions.”
