The Digest’s 2022 Multi-Slide Guide to Co-Optima Fuels – Techno-Economic and Life Cycle Analysis

Researchers with the U.S. Department of Energy Co-Optimization of Fuels & Engines initiative are exploring how simultaneous innovations in fuels and engines could boost fuel economy and vehicle performance, while reducing emissions—advancing the underlying science needed to deliver better fuels and better engines sooner.

In this presentation by Troy Hawkins of Argonne National Laboratory, the team reported on techno-economic and lifecycle analyses of Co-Optima fuels in a project aimed at supporting Co-Optima’s goal to identify fuel- engine combinations that increase fuel economy and reduce emissions, and  to measure the commercialization potential. The presentartion was given at the Bioenergy Technology Office’s Project Peer Review meeting.
