In Brazil, EPBR reported that biotechnology company Geo Biogás & Tech will invest $2.8 million in a pilot plant for the production of aviation bio-kerosene in biogas generation units in Paraná state.
The demonstration project will have an initial manufacturing capacity of 660 liters per day, according to the report.
The goal of the initiative is to produce sustainable aviation fuel from sugarcane waste from biogas projects.
“Brazil has scale for the production of green gas that can be used in the production of sustainable aviation fuel, in addition to other green hydrocarbon derivatives at competitive prices in relation to oil sources,” said Geo’s CEO, Alessandro Gardemann.
