BunkerTrace providing DNA-based tracing technology for marine fuels

In the UK, BunkerTrace is working with most major marine fossil and biofuel suppliers to provide DNA-based tracing technology that allows the fuel supply chain, from producer to blender to vessel owners, track the fuel’s origin but also quantification. This is especially useful for biofuels as it allows tracking of blending levels or even alteration. The technology works with other alternative fuels including methanol and LNG because of their liquid forms. The tracking also helps in fuel quality disputes.
