Clueless star poses nude to promote vegan leather

In New York, Alicia Silverstone has posed nude for a PETA ad encouraging adoption of plant-based leather alternatives. Featuring the tagline “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Animals,” the ad shows Silverstone wearing nothing but began leather boots in a field of cacti. Additional text reads: “Don’t be a prick. Wear Vegan. Buy Cactus, Mushroom, or Apple Leather Instead!”

In an interview discussing the ad, the Clueless star noted that being photographed nude was unprecedented. “I never, ever, get naked in TV, in film,” she said. “Nothing. Never. Nope. But I’ve done it for PETA, ’cause that’s how much it matters to me.”

The attention-grabbing ad is being featured on a billboard in Times Square over the very crowded holiday season.
