VARO Energy and Lufthansa expand partnership to explore SAF production

In Germany, VARO Energy and Deutsche Lufthansa AG have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the production and supply of Sustainable Aviation Fuel. The MoU will deepen existing partnership through potential agreement for VARO to sell SAF volumes to Lufthansa Group from as early as 2026. SAF is a key element in the ONE VARO Transformation strategy, helping customers in hard to abate sectors like aviation decarbonization. The companies will also jointly investigate the use of non-edible biogenic feedstock to produce green hydrogen to be potentially used at a later stage for SAF production
