Conab estimates Brazilian corn ethanol production will jump 30% in 2022/23

February 8, 2023 |

In Brazil, Soybean and Corn Advisor reports that Conab estimates 73% of the country’s corn-based ethanol production comes from Mato Grosso and will likely rise to 3.335 billion liters, nearly 12% higher than the year prior. Nationwide, the agency expects corn-based ethanol to increase more than 30% during 2022/23 to 4.5 billion liters. Corn-based ethanol production could reach 25% of the total by 2030 at 10 billion liters annually thanks to increased investment in standalone facilities and retrofitting of sugarcane mills to use corn as ethanol feedstock during the sugarcane interharvest season.
