US Senator Lee wants EV out of the RFS

February 16, 2023 |

In Washington, Reuters reports that Mike Lee, a US senator from Utah, is attempting to bring together other Senators to fight the Environmental Protection Agency’s attempts to include electric vehicles in the Renewable Fuels Standard. Reuters has discovered that the proposed letter that the Senator is shopping around was partially penned by a lobbyist for HollyFrontier who has a refinery Utah. The biofuels industry, however, has aligned with the Biden Administration to include EVs in the policy and is asking Senators to not sign the letter.
