Sweden’s December biodiesel blend rate fell to 12-month low on policy uncertainty

In Sweden, Fastmarkets reports that Sweden’s December biodiesel blend rate fell to the lowest level in 12 months at 25%, using 128,685 cubic meters of biodiesel. The blending rate was at 38% in October but then elections that month brought in a right-wing government that put in doubt the previous center-left government’s higher decarbonization mandate of 30.5% in 2022 and 2023. The new government said it would cut the decarbonization mandate to the EU baseline target of 6% from 2024.
