The Digest’s 2023 Multi-Slide Guide to the USDA Western Regional Research Center

The USDA Western Regional Research Center has ~350 people, ~45 in bioproducts & biofuels. It’s part of the Agricultural Research Service, the ARS is the in-house research arm of the USDA. They partner with companies and industry groups to take bioproducts to market. According to the WRRC, “we can invent our way to an environmentally sustainable, high quality of life by making optimal use of our natural resources. Governments can and will play a critical role in realizing such a vision via sound research data and good public policy.” Exploring this topic in depth, USDA Western Regional Research Center director William Orts presented these slides at ABLC Next 2022.
