Brazil’s CNPE to decide on biodiesel blending mandate in March

February 28, 2023 |

In Brazil, Reuters reports the Ministry of Mines and Energy says the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) will decide in March if biodiesel blending will increase in April or not. The blending mandate was frozen at 10% following President Lula’s election last October and was meant to be reviewed in February for a potential increase in March. But that decision was postponed until next month instead, but the actual date of the meeting when the decision will be made wasn’t announced. Blending has been as high as 13% but was reduced to 10% when soy oil prices soared.
