Argentina’s biodiesel exports to decline 50% in 2023 due to the drought

March 23, 2023 |

In Argentina, El Destape reported that the country’s biodiesel exports to Europe by large biodiesel companies will decline by 50% this year due to the severe drought affecting Argentina’s main productive regions. According to the report, biodiesel exports last year amounted to 1.2 million tons, with a total value of $1.8 billion. “2022 ended well, with full execution of the European Union quota, but this year the drought will impact the volumes to be sold,” El Destape reported, citing an industry source. The main exporters of biodiesel are Cargill, Aceitera General Deheza (AGD), Bunge Argentina, LDC, Molinos and Cofco.
