India plans incentives for green hydrogen fuel producers

In India, Reuters reported that the Government of India plans to give green hydrogen fuel producers incentives worth at least 10% of their costs under a $2 billion scheme. According to the report, a top government official confirmed that this scheme will begin before the end of June. Earlier this year, the Indian government approved an incentive plan to promote green hydrogen in the country. The government will give incentives worth at least $0.36 per kg for production of green hydrogen fuel, according to the report. According to the Reuters report, India’s Renewable Energy Secretary Bhupinder Singh Bhalla said the incentives will be awarded through a competitive bidding process, and the incentive amount will taper down annually.
