Egypt to develop 1MW biogas power project

In Egypt, the Egypt Independent newspaper reports that the contract has been signed for the country’s first biogas project that will produce electricity as well. The 1MW facility in Sadat City will be supplied with 85,000 metric tons of cattle manure annually, which will also produce 80,000 tons of fertilizer. GHG emissions reductions are expected to reach 5,000 tons per year thanks to the project. The project is a partnership between private sector and state agencies.
