Indian Oil, LanzaJet plan to set up SAF venture in India

In India, local newspaper The Economic Times reported that Indian Oil Corporation is planning to set up a joint venture with US-based clean energy technology company LanzaJet and multiple domestic airlines to produce sustainable aviation fuel. The proposed venture will set up a SAF plant at the state-run company’s Panipat refinery in Haryana, according to the report. Indian Oil Corporation will own a 50% stake in the new company, while LanzaJet will hold a 25% stake. The remaining 25% stake would be offered to a number of airline companies, according to the report. “Domestic airline companies have expressed interest in being part of this venture. Indian Oil Corporation would be reserving 25% for airline companies wherein multiple airline companies could be offered a 2-5% stake,” said a source with knowledge of the matter.
