Brazil exploring B30 blending ceiling

May 2, 2023 |

In Brazil, Reuters reports the mines and energy ministry is exploring the increase of ethanol blended into gasoline to 30% from the current 27%. The currently policy has a range of possibly blending rates between 18%-27.5% that are set based upon market conditions, but the energy and mines minister felt that ceiling could be lifted. The government’s focus, however, is on ethanol gasoline hybrids that can run on 100% ethanol to help reduce its reliance on gasoline imports.
