Greasezilla to be at more than 30 sites by end-2023

May 8, 2023 |

In West Virginia, Downey Ridge Environmental Company’s rapid expansion of GreasezillaTM fats, oils and grease (FOG) separation and processing systems, is accelerating the recovery of brown grease feedstock for the production of transportation biofuels, including biodiesel, renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Greasezilla’s national install base is poised to become the largest brown grease feedstock source for U.S. biofuel production.
Annually, the U.S. generates billions of gallons of FOG waste, sending more than 80 percent of it to landfills. By redirecting this massive waste stream, Greasezilla sites are able to capture and recover an increasingly larger proportion of brown grease while significantly decreasing waste and harmful emissions. Downey Ridge Environmental Company will have 30 installed sites by the end of 2023 and more than 50 locations through 2025, more than doubling the volume of brown grease recovered each year. The company is also focusing on industrial food processing facilities to maximize brown grease recovery at locations known to generate significant quantities of FOG waste.
