Swedish Environmental Protection Agency slams biofuel blending cut to 6%

May 8, 2023 |

In Sweden, Reuters reports the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency says the country will have a hard time achieving its 2030 emissions reduction target following the government’s decision to cut biofuel blending to 6% next year through 2026 from the current 30.8% in an attempt to lower fuel prices at the pump. Soaring inflation and higher cost of living has seen the government lower fuel taxes, increase tax breaks for workers who drive to work, while slashing subsidies for electric vehicles.
