Argentina’s biogas production hikes almost 11% year-on-year in 2022

In Argentina, TN reported that biogas production in the country grew by 10.58% year-on-year in 2022, going from 378 to 418 GWh.

According to a report by the Cordoba grain chamber (BCCBA), this production level marked the highest volume in the last decade.

The provinces of Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Santa Fe led the productivity ranking, according to the report.

“Biogas presents a valuable opportunity for the development of alternative energy sources, since it could have various purposes, such as the generation of electrical and thermal energy, to treat industrial and agricultural water, or even as fertilizers for fields,” the entity said.
