India installs more than 11,000 small biogas plants and six bioCNG plants through July

In India, as of the end of July, six bioCNG plants and 11,143 small biogas plants have been commissioned thanks to the National Bioenergy Program that was put into place in November 2022. Maharashtra leads the pack with more than 4,000 small biogas plants and three bioCNG plants. Madya Pradesh and Karnataka both have more than 2,000 small biogas plants each while the remaining bioCNG plants are located in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Tamil Nadu.
