KDEB Waste Management, YTL Power to build waste-to-energy plant in Malaysia

In Malaysia, The Edge reported that KDEB Waste Management, a wholly-owned unit of Malaysian state-controlled Menteri Besar Selangor, is partnering with YTL Power International to set up a 2,400 ton per day, waste-to-energy (WTE) plant in Rawang, Selangor.

According to the report, will utilize municipal waste from Petaling Jaya, Hulu Selangor, Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, Ampang Jaya and Selayang, and generate 58MW of electricity.

Additionally, the plan is for waste materials from the plant, such as fly ash and bottom ash, to be utilized for the production of cement, according to the report.
