In Indonesia, Reuters reports the attorney general’s office is launching an investigation into potential corruption in the palm oil fund agency between 2015 and 2022, with 15 people interviewed so far. The investigation will specifically look into the monthly biodiesel price index and potential manipulation, as that price index is what is used to determine the level of subsidy biofuel producers could get. The fund receives revenue from export levies on crude palm oil to offset the cost of higher biofuel costs compared to fossil diesel.
