In Poland, Orlen will invest $195 million in a 500,000 metric ton per year rapeseed processing plant in Ketrzyn in the northeast that will produce 200,000 tons of oil annually for biodiesel production. The plant’s capacity is for about 1/7 of the national production and it aims to almost entirely domestic rapeseed. Construction is set to start early next year and be online by mid-2026. The company is investing in four of its existing refineries to handle biofuel to support its ambitions of being a regional biofuel leader.
