Brazilian Agriculture and Livestock Confederation discuss biodiesel priorities with Biodiesel Parliamentary Front

October 2, 2023 |

In Brazil, the Brazilian Agriculture and Livestock Confederation (CNA) discussed in a meeting with the Biodiesel Parliamentary Front last Wednesday the priority agendas for promoting the biodiesel sector. During the meeting, the agenda of predictability for the biodiesel industry, Brazilian energy independence and generation of jobs and income was discussed.

According to him, biodiesel production not only reduces our dependence on foreign fossil fuels, but also directly influences the supply of soybean meal on the domestic market. This by-product plays an essential role in the composition of feed, playing a fundamental role in the production costs of animal proteins, such as pork, fish, chicken and eggs.

In the opinion of the president of the Front, Federal Deputy Alceu Moreira, the sector needs a Ten-Year Plan to stimulate the expansion of biodiesel in Brazil. “With this proposal, we will guarantee legal security and predictability for the sector, increase the production capacity of industrial plants and consolidate Brazil’s sustainable agenda.”
