Bill meant to invigorate shift to biofuels moving through Nigeria’s House of Representatives

In Nigeria, the Vanguard newspaper reports an Act to Provide a Policy Framework for the Development of Bio-Fuels Energy Industry in Nigeria has made it to the second reading in the House of Representatives that aims to establish the Bio-Fuels Energy Regulatory Commission and the Bio-Fuels Research Agency. The bill is meant to boost the country’s shift towards biofuels which has been scattered since the first biofuel policy was established in 2007. The bill also includes various tax breaks and import duty waivers to promote the biofuel industry’s establishment.
