In Indonesia, Reuters reports that biodiesel consumption reach 8.5 million metric tons between January and September 2023 with total consumption for the year seen at about 11.5 million tons, thanks to the increased blending level set at 35% in February from 30% previously. Even though the mandate was increased in February, many regions needed improved infrastructure for the higher blend, so it wasn’t implemented nationwide until August. The country plans to further increase its blend to 40% in the next few years.
