Wolf Carbon Solutions suspends Illinois permit application but will refile in 2024

In Illinois, Wolf Carbon Solutions U.S. has voluntarily submitted a motion to withdraw its current certificate application with the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC). Wolf intends to update and refile an application with the ICC in early 2024. The pending application requests a certificate of authority for the development and operation of a state-of-the-art carbon dioxide (CO2) pipeline system, known as the Mt. Simon Hub, that would safely transport CO2 emitted from industrial facilities for permanent storage, helping meet climate goals and sustain ethanol’s reputation as a leading alternative fuel.
