December 30, 2023 |

In Argentina, Bichos de Campo reported that the national government sent to Congress a draft bill including changes in the biofuels sector.

The new regulation seeks to eliminate state regulations in the purchase price of raw materials such as corn, soybeans, and cane to make the blend with fossil fuels. The report stated that with the new regulation, oil companies will be able to negotiate purchase values directly with producers without intermediation from the state.

Under current regulations, oil companies buy biofuels to blend gasoline or diesel with the price and quantities regulated by the state.
