The fiber—dubbed Ecodear 510—is made from sebacic acid and pentamethylenediamine made from feedstocks castor oil and corn, respectively. Ecodear N510 exhibits heat resistance as high as nylon 6 and a higher melting point and dimensional stability than other plant-based materials. The bags’ interiors are made from nylon fibers chemically recycled from fishing nets and other sources.
