Yusen Logistics partners with Cathay on SAF

In Japan, Yusen Logistics said it partnered with Asian airline Cathay on the latter’s corporate SAF Program effective from January 2024. Cathay’s Corporate SAF Program, launched in 2022, is one of the first initiatives in Asia towards achieving sustainable air transport through greater adoption of SAF. After the initial pilot phase, Cathay aims to further scale up the use of SAF echoing with their target to use SAF for 10% of total fuel consumption by 2030 and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. “With this collaboration, we aim to support our customers’ sustainability goals through our “Yusen Book-and-Claim” service and contribute to sectoral decarbonization by stimulating more SAF demand,” Yusen said.
