UNIDO provides grant for bioenergy projects in Tanzania

In Tanzania, the Daily News reports UNIDO has provided $899,999 to Tanzania Development Bank to support bioenergy entrepreneurs. The grant will focus on agro-waste to energy and promoting bioethanol as an alternative cooking fuel. Already the Bioenergy Incentive Fund has reviewed several grant applications and will award funds to Bagamoyo Sugar Limited Consumer’s Choice Limited, Multiplex System, TPC, Zanzibar Sugar Limited, Bagamoyo Sugar Limited, Manyara Sugar Limited, IV Biotech Limited, Sundy Merchants, and Hanny G. Investment.
