LG Chem, CJ CheilJedang ink partnership to produce biobased nylon

In South Korea, The Korea Herald reported that LG Chem will work together with food company CJ CheilJedang to produce biobased nylon.

LG Chem said the two companies signed a deal to establish a joint venture that will produce ingredients and biobased nylon products.

“It has not been determined yet, but the two companies are expected to establish the joint company as early as this year,” an official familiar with the matter.

According to the report, CJ CheilJedang will provide LG Chem with pentamethylenediamine, the main ingredient for biobased nylon products.
