Raizen mulls SAF plant in Brazil

In Brazil, Bloomberg reported that Raizen, a supplier of ethanol made from sugar cane is considering building a SAF facility in Brazil. “We truly believe that there is a structural advantage to producing in Brazil,” Raizen Vice President of Trading Paulo Neves said. The company, a partnership between Cosan and Shell, sees economic viability in producing sustainable aviation fuel in Brazil, as the process requires large volumes of raw materials. The cost of exporting the final product would be 70% lower than sending ethanol to be converted into aviation fuel abroad, Neves said.
