Waste-to-energy project in Iraq attracts 17 bids

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Utilities Middle East reported that Iraq has attracted significant interest from both local and foreign companies for the construction of a waste-to-energy plant in Nahrawan, in Baghdad.

The National Investment Commission (NIC) in Iraq announced that it has received 17 bids for the project, according to the report.

With the capacity to handle nearly 3,000 tons of waste per day, the project aims to leverage innovative technologies to convert waste into electricity, the report added.

NIC stated that a dedicated committee is currently evaluating the bids submitted by interested companies.
