Bolivia inaugurates the country’s first biodiesel plant

In Bolivia, Telesur reported that the Government of Bolivia officially inaugurated the Biodiesel Plant I, in Santa Cruz.

“We fulfilled our promise and started production of the first Biodiesel Plant in the country. We began to produce our own biofuel based on the raw materials produced by the agricultural sector,” said President Luis Arce.

The biodiesel plant required an investment of $54.7 million. The Government is also building a second biodiesel plant in the municipality of El Alto.

According to the report, the biofuels facility has a production capacity of 1,500 barrels per day.
