Oman and Germany sign pact on green hydrogen

In Oman, Times of Oman reported that Omani and German companies signed a number of agreements for delivering green hydrogen to refining stations in Germany.

The memorandum of understanding was signed when Salim bin Naser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals of Oman met with Robert Habeck, Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action in Berlin.

The two governments also signed a memorandum of understanding between Hydrogen Oman and German company VNG on a feasibility study for establishment of an Omani -German integrated supply chain for green hydrogen and ammonia along with an agreement on the sale and purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG) between Oman LNG and Securing Energy for Europe (SEFE).

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the needs of the energy market of the Federal Republic of Germany and the developments of green hydrogen and energy solutions and issues of common concern, according to the report.
