Calumet works to boost SAF production
In the UK, SAF Investor reported that Calumet Speciality Products is currently working to increase its sustainable aviation fuel production capacity as it’s Department of Energy (DoE) loan program discussions reach advanced stages. “Significant further expansion of SAF production remains a strategic priority, and we remain encouraged by the well-advanced DOE loan program discussions,” said Calumet Speciality Products in its first quarter 2024 operational update on its Montana Renewables facility. The report noted that Calumet’s produces around 30 million gallons of SAF per annum at the Montana site. Montana Renewables is one of the largest biofuel producer in the US with a total capacity of 184m gallons per annum. The company produces both SAF as well as renewable diesel (RD) at its Montana site, the report added.
