In Brazil, Reuters reports Czarnikow has received permission from the ANP energy regulator to open CzEnergy, a company dedicated to trading ethanol and power in the country. CzEnergy is looking to be involved in both the ethanol and power markets, so it will work with mills that produce both products in addition to just sugar, providing trading, financing and hedging services. Electricity trading will be done on the ACL market. Czarnikow is owned by both AB Sugar and Macquarie in equal shares with the rest owned by the employees.
