BP looking at renewable diesel and SAF conversion at Kwinana Refinery in Western Australia

In Australia, the Chemical Engineer reports that BP has announced plans to shut its Kwinana Refinery in Western Australia after micro and macro factors made the low margin facility economically unviable. It announced immediate plans to turn it into an import facility but like many other oil refiners globally said it is exploring the potential to introduce renewable diesel or sustainable aviation fuel production. BP has recently committed to cut its carbon emissions to zero by 2050.
