Indonesia to ramp up biodiesel efforts to meet green energy targets

In Indonesia, Reuters reports the country will need to achieve 40% biodiesel blending by 2024 in order to reach its renewable energy use targets of 23% by 2020. The original plan was to hit B40 by 2021 but high palm oil prices that have stalled the mandate at 30%. Biodiesel consumption is set to hit more than 10 billion liters in 2022 for the first time. The government is preparing the regulations for B40 to provide security for needed investments.
