In Washington, Natural Gas Intel reports that renewable natural gas production has grown dramatically recently in the US but that its future still remains uncertain due to an unclear regulatory and pricing landscape. In March, the equivalent of 116 million gallons of RNG was produced, creating RINs, an increase of 19% on the year and accounting for 4% of total natural gas supply. Much of the increase is coming from a steep jump in dairy-based RNG production from California to Texas.
