Dubai launches 6MW biogas-to-energy project

In the UAE, the Emirates News Agency reports that Dubai Municipality has inaugurated its biogas-to-energy project at the Warsan Wastewater Treatment Plant. The 6MW facility produces 57,000 cubic metres of biogas per day, producing 121 MWh of electricity which will supply half of the energy required to operate the WWTP, reducing its carbon emissions by 31,000 metric tons annually as well as a cost savings of AED320 million over the next 25 years for the facility.
