Hungarian biofuel industry concerned about aflatoxin-contaminated corn

In Hungary, the Budapest Business Journal reports that the national biofuels association has called on the government to tackle challenges around aflatoxin-contaminated corn. In 2022, a lot of the corn crop had aflatoxin levels above the EU-mandated ceiling of 20 ppb, which together with the ban on corn imports from the Ukraine, has led to a lack of clean corn availability in the country at the current moment and an excess of aflatoxin-infected corn on the market.
