European biofuels industry slams EU for supporting oil

In Belgium, the biofuel industry shot back at the European Commission at a POLITICO event held on Wednesday, accusing the body of setting energy policy that favors the oil industry and is counterproductive to the goal of achieving low emissions mobility. Seeing how conventional biofuels producers have been treated by European policymakers through the phase out of food-based biofuels will keep investors from taking the risk on advanced biofuels, they said, ending up with more reliance on imported fossil fuels.
