Harvest Energy acquires UK's Seal Sands ethanol plant for $15.8M

In the UK, the country’s largest independent fuel retailer, Harvest Energy, has taken over the former Biofuels Corporation plant at Seal Sands that could be valued up to $15.8 million.

Last November, Biofuels Corporation was forced to lay off its 38 staff after opting for a creditors’ voluntary arrangement with KPMG to manage an approximate $158 million debt. Harvest Energy took control of the waste oil plant last July and has since reinstated 16 former Biofuels Corporation staff.
